Meet The Artist
Brenda Carvalho is an international dance artist, facilitator, and multidisciplinary movement researcher who began her dance journey in 2007.
Her background spans several partner dance styles, including Tango, Salsa, Forró, Bolero, Samba de Gafieira, and Brazilian Zouk. Since the beginning of her career, she has performed at renowned international Latin dance festivals and competitions, winning every competition she entered while building a strong technical foundation.
In 2015, a turning point changed everything. After losing her joy in dancing and experiencing burnout, Brenda embarked on a profound journey of self-discovery that transformed the way she understood dance, art, and life. This path expanded into multidisciplinary studies in Nonviolent Communication, Neo-Tantra, Emotional Intelligence, Eutony, the DeRose Method, Plant Medicine, Dance Therapy, and somatic movement.
Alongside her long-term partner and collaborator Anderson Mendes, and with the inspiration and support of Xandy Liberato, this journey became the foundation of a new approach and culture within the dance scene.
Together, their work pioneered a deeper exploration of feeling, presence, connection, expression, authenticity, and consciousness within Brazilian Zouk. Moving beyond steps and technique, they explored dance as a pathway for self-awareness, human connection, and transformation. Their demonstrations of this approach reached far beyond the Zouk community, inspiring thousands of people around the world to discover what partner dance can offer. They also helped pioneer immersive experiences and retreats that combined dance with self-discovery within the Zouk world.
Today, Brenda continues to expand the possibility of dance being more than just dancing. By integrating technical mastery with depth and embodiment, she invites people to experience values such as presence, connection, listening, respect, freedom, and authenticity through dance, and to carry those values into life beyond the dance floor.

William Wegert began his movement journey at the age of seven when he enrolled in a martial arts program. Three years later, he earned his first-degree Black Belt, and by the age of 18 had achieved his fourth-degree Black Belt.
Professionally trained to teach from the age of eight, William began teaching part-time at 14 and transitioned to a full-time career at 16. Over the years, he has taught thousands of hours of group and private lessons for both children and adults.
His superpower lies in balancing intricate detail while keeping things simple.
When William discovered Bachata, he learned the value of slowing down and truly connecting with his dance partners. This naturally led him to Brazilian Zouk, a dance that quickly became the center of his world. Through years of daily training and a relentless pursuit of knowledge, he became an international Zouk instructor within just four years of beginning his dance journey. Since then, he has taught in multiple countries and at many esteemed dance festivals throughout Brazil, sharing his passion for dance with communities around the world.
At the heart of William’s teaching are two core values: growth and connection.
One of the greatest lessons he has learned through dance is that “it’s not about what you do, but how you do it.” This philosophy has shaped his approach, shifting his focus from patterns and sequences toward understanding the deeper concepts behind movement and connection.
His ongoing exploration asks: How can we develop awareness of both ourselves and our partners to create the richest possible experience in dance? How can we become so present that we completely lose ourselves in the moment we share together?
